First what I didn't like about the rifle. It is very front heavy and really hard to hold steady shooting from the hip while looking through a scope. I would recommend shooting from a sand bag or rifle rest or something like that. Also it is very hold sensative. It takes some technique to shoot a tight shot pattern. The cocking force isn't so bad but because of the short under level arm there isn't as much leverage to hold on to that you would get with a break barrel with a muzzle break. Now for what I like about the rifle. It has a very strong vortex gas piston. I did some chrony tests and was seeing numbers around 840 fps with crosman premiers 14.3 grain hollow points. That is about 23 fpe at the muzzle. I am shooting the gun at about a mile high in elevation in Aurora Colorado so the air is much thinner than sea level which could effect the fps. I really do think the rifle is capable of at least 29 fpe at the muzzle easily at sea level. Also what I really like is that the gas ram is adjustable and takes normal air instead of nitrogen. If you take the stock off there is a hole on the right near the trigger assembly that takes a hatsan fill probe fitting to pump up the gas piston up to 150 bar which is the recommend limit. I heard out of the factory it is set to about 125 bar. So it has potential to shoot even harder if you get a high pressure hand pump and the correct fill probe. It is possible to fill up the gas ram to the max. Out of the box I was able to get some decent shot groups with pellets overlapping one another using some technique. Finally I really like the way the rifle looks with it's walnut stock.Love this gun real walnut stock nice hair pin trigger and shoots like a real air rifle with lots of power not like those garbage air rifles from Crosman, gamo, ruger etc who lie to us and make rdiculous claims that their air rifles go up over 1000 FPS and go up too 1300fps I tell you they would write anything to try and fool you. I’m surprised they havent claimed 1800fps by now. Don’t fall for the high velocity lie. I was once a victim of it and once I bought this hatsan I was changed. Can’t go wrong with even the hatsan 95 which goes 800fps the good thing about this brand is that they don’t lie and sell you on a high velocity hype like other brands they actually test their guns with lead pellets can you believe that. It’s the real gospel of air rifles. Haven’t bought the 95 but I’m sure it will out perform any bs Crosman or gamo gun. Once again couldn’t be more happy with this air rifle. Don’t be fooled by other brands. I rather buy a hatsan and I’d rather have nothing compared to the other manufactures.I love the Hatsan Torpedo, it shoots really nice. Very powerful, It's a beautiful looking gun, hardwood stock. It's Right on the money. I put a good scope on it and am very happy with the gun. But I would not buy it from field supply again . They sent me the wrong cal. and I had to pay the return shipping. They blamed it on Amazon. It was only 15 bucks but to make a customer happy, they should of done the right thing. I have the 177 cal. now, they sent me the 25 cal. that I sent back.El rifle esta hermoso, vino bien empacado, excelente servicio, solo se atraso un día , de lo demás bien satisfecho, me encanta !!!Very powerful. A somewhat different feel to it as compared to the break barrels I own. Still need to work on accuracy - as it has a significant recoil. From write ups I was expecting I might have a difficult time cocking this air rifle. No problem for me and I am in my late 60's.I really enjoy shooting this. It looks beautiful and has nice fiber optic sights. The crank is 45 pounds and is a beast of an air rifle.Bought this gun June 30th 2017 and don't know if the safety was working when I bought it or has never work. Works in both the secured and on position. I do know that warranty issues are almost impossible to resolve. Hatsun USA will not answer the phone or return my e-mail or calls. If you OWN THIS GUN CHECK YOUR SAFETY....ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN.Excellent item , fast shipping. Thanks
